UNESCO: BOI BUMBÁ
Intangible Cultural Heritage Intergovernmental Committee
Through programmes such as the World Heritage and Intangible Heritage Conventions, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural organization seeks to build peace between nations through their cultural heritages. The preservation of such heritages is vital for a people's culture and identity, especially in our modern, globalized world. In this committee, we seek to look at a key formative celebration in brazilian identity and culture, the celebration of Bumba-meu-boi, or Boi Bumbá.
It is your duty, as delegates of UNESCO, to discuss the preservation of such cultural manifestations, and the implications of foreign influence in these parties.
